Song-Poems Wanted! The Musical
Song-Poems Wanted! The Musical is an original musical that explores the hopes and dreams of the poets and the musicians whose lives are connected through the fictional "Star Records" through the wacky and sometimes touching art of Song-Poems.
The score incorporates actual Song-Poems with lyrics written by everyday, ordinary people, along with exclusive material written by composer Art Kaufman, and lyricists Hellen Bates & Larry Carpenter. It's all tied together through Carpenter's light-hearted and imaginative book.
Off-Strip Productions is proud and excited to premiere a brand new version of Song-Poems Wanted! right here in Las Vegas at the Onyx Theatre. Come support original art in our community and give us feedback on what you see. Be a part of the creative process!
Song Poems Wanted! features dozens of songs, lots of laughs and a big heart. Don't miss this opportunity!
A portion of the proceeds from this production will benefit the Gateway Arts Foundation.

"SNL on acid!" ~ Las Vegas Weekly
"Motherfuppets is a risky improv / sketch comedy show that includes liberal doses of absurdism, screaming, physical violence, and general mayhem. Which is to say it’s very good. I haven’t experienced something this left-of-center since living in an illegal artist warehouse in Baltimore-- can’t push this much further without breaking laws.” ~ Artsvegas.com

The Telephone/The Human Voice
Sin City Opera is proud to once again be teaming up with Off-Strip Productions for its 6th engagement at the Onyx Theatre, where we will present two operas, Gian Carlo Menotti's The Telephone and a brand-new English translation of Francis Poulenc's The Human Voice (La Voix Humaine).
The two works focus on women at extreme moments of their relationships. One is at the beginning, afraid to say hello. The other is at the end and afraid to say goodbye. Each woman has one tool in common to help them make their journey: a telephone. The two stories will explore the themes of the telephone as a distraction, a shield, a weapon, and ultimately as an extension of our very selves, the ways we really talk—and don't talk—to those we love.
Joining us on stage will be three of Las Vegas' most brilliant opera voices, Marcie Ley, Athena Mertes, and Nathan Van Arsdale. This SCO production will be uniquely staged; the two works will be completely interwoven, one in color and the other in black and white. Everyone from opera newbies to seasoned lovers of these two works should be sure not to miss this lush and provocative dual production as it’s never been presented before.
A portion of the proceeds from this production will be donated to Variety - The Children's Charity of Southern Nevada. www.varietysn.org

THE MOST FAMOUS COMEDY EVER WRITTEN,
OSCAR WILDE’S “THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST”
OPENS AT THE INTIMATE ONYX THEATRE IN MAY
OFF-STRIP’s Artistic Director Brandon Burk will direct what Wilde dubbed his “Trivial comedy for serious people.”
Gwendolen loves Ernest, and he loves her. Cecily loves Ernest too, though he’s only just finding that out. But is it a lover’s triangle, or is there room for two happy couples in Oscar Wilde’s madcap romance – and what will fearsome Lady Bracknell have to say about it? This quintessential comedy of proper manners, by the quintessential bad boy of his day, includes mislaid babies, mistaken identities, secret engagements, baffled suitors, and some of the wittiest wordplay ever volleyed over cucumber sandwiches.
Burk is returning to the director’s chair after a 16 month hiatus. His sold-out production of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," which opened in 2012 and was revived by popular demand in 2013, received widespread acclaim.
The cast includes applauded local performers:
The all-star list of Designer’s Include:
